On Wednesday 27th, we have decided to do Bake for Dementia!
Alzheimers Society is the leading charity for dementia who provide people with the support and care they need to cope with the UK’s biggest killer (someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no way of curing dementia). Their main mission is to achieve a world without dementia, so we thought why not try and pair our love for beige buffets with raising as much money as possible for such a good cause?!
So whether you like eating cakes (like us) or aspire to be the next Paul Hollywood or Mary Berry, come on down, donate your well-earned pennies, and indulge in some yummy food!
Here are just a few examples of what your donations could do:
- £9.90 could help reach a person with dementia AS’s Dementia Connect service, providing them with an inital call with their skilled dementia advisors.
- £15 could turn four people into Dementia Friends. Dementia Friends learn about dementia, raise awareness and offer support, so that people living with dementia can continue to live in the way they want.
- £50 means 312 people can access our online community ‘Talking Point’ to share stories and receive support from others going through similar experiences.
